Design and development of a custom content management system and marketplace for graphic and video products, equipped with an intelligent Web Scraper and a fully automated pipeline for content extraction, packaging, download server syncing, and publishing from global sources like Envato Elements.
The ProGFX project is a specialized platform and custom Content Management System (CMS) for offering, subscription-based selling, and downloading graphic files, ready-made video projects, and multimedia templates. The main objective in designing this system was to go beyond a standard file store and build an intelligent infrastructure to optimize the time-consuming processes of managing thousands of gigabytes of heavy data.
Main Challenge and Engineering Solution (Automation & Scraping System) The biggest challenge of graphic file platforms is the grueling process of gathering information, downloading source files, extracting metadata, categorizing, compressing, and re-uploading them to download servers. To solve this, an Automated Content Pipeline was designed and implemented in the system's backend, automating up to 90% of the product ingestion process:
Smart Web Scraper: The system administrator simply provides the URL of a category from global reference platforms (such as Envato Elements). The scraping bot automatically crawls all items on that page, extracting comprehensive information including titles, descriptions, technical specifications, image/video previews, and tags.
Audio/Asset Matching: If a video project has an associated background music track on the source platform, the system intelligently identifies and extracts the link and metadata of the audio track attached to the project.
Auto-Packaging & Download Queue: The system creates a waiting list on the server. Upon receiving the source files, the processing script automatically identifies them, applies a standard folder structure, and packs and compresses them into a dedicated format.
Remote Unpack & Sync with Download Server: With the click of a button, the prepared packages are transferred to the download host, where they are automatically unpacked and organized.
Rapid Publishing on the Main Site: Through API communication between the download server and the site core, all processed items are fetched and listed in the main site's admin panel with a single click. At this stage, all images, files, and technical specs are ready, and the operator only needs to localize and translate the text to publish the product.
